Week 4: Capital Letters

I chose to go with the lightning bolt typeface. I'm not sure if I want the lightning bolt for the V and W to go on the left side like the others or put it on the right side. If I put the lightning bolt on the left side if would go better with the other letters. If I put it on the right side I feel like it looks better, but then it kind of sticks out. I could try keeping the lightning bolt on the left side but then flip/reflect it, so it would look a little better, but the I feel like it would also stick out a bit. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Week 3: Research and Concept

Part A: For the typeface I want to create I wanted to focus on making the typeface either look like an everyday object or have some type of cool movement to it. Part B: I chose to focus on flames, lightning, and dots/stars. I like the idea of the flames because it could create a unique movement to the typeface. The lightning bolt just looks really cool to me because it’s something I’ve never seen in a typeface. Lastly, the dots/stars could make an interesting typeface because it’s something familiar, but a little bit different.

Week 2: Type Classification

For this assignment I chose to focus on Sans-serifs and Scripts. For Sans-serifs I used the typefaces Arial, Myriad Pro, Franklin Gothic, Verdana, and Gill Sans. For Scripts I used the typefaces Kunstler Script, French Script, Segoe Script, Freestyle Script, and Vladimir Script.
